Music and singing have been an important part of the Cornish culture, and cornish emigrants brought this culture to Australia with them in the 1800s. Several incarnations of a Cornish choir have existed in South Australia since the 1860s.
The most recent choir first began in the mid 1990s when a group of people in the Cornish Association of South Australia (CASA), who enjoyed singing, got together to put on a Christmas concert for the other society members. This grew both in numbers and standard of performances, and the choir performed concerts of a high standard to groups within the community, including church groups, retirement villages, hostels and nursing homes.
The choir recently wound up in 2025, due to the increasing age of many members, with the last concert in June.
